Accessibility Statement

At Airport Run, we are committed to providing equitable, dignified, and accessible transportation to all residents and visitors in Bowmanville and the Durham Region. We continually strive to meet and exceed the requirements set forth by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and local Vehicle-for-Hire (VFH) regulations.

1. Service animals

We welcome all passengers traveling with guide dogs or other recognized service animals. Under Ontario law and Airport Run policy:

• Service animals are permitted to accompany passengers in all Airport Run vehicles.
• There are absolutely no additional fees or surcharges for traveling with a service animal.
• Our drivers are strictly prohibited from refusing a ride, canceling a dispatch, or discriminating against a passenger because they are accompanied by a service animal.

2. Assistive devices and mobility aids

We respect your independence and are here to assist with your mobility equipment:

• Passengers are welcome to use their personal assistive devices (such as canes, crutches, or walkers) while traveling with us.
• Our Comfort SUVs and Large XL vehicles are capable of accommodating most stowable and foldable mobility aids, including foldable wheelchairs and scooters.
• Our chauffeurs are trained to provide polite, respectful assistance with stowing and retrieving your mobility aids upon request, at no extra charge.
• Please note: At this time, our standard fleet consists of SUVs and minivans that require passengers to transfer from their wheelchair into the vehicle seat. We do not currently operate fully accessible vehicles with motorized wheelchair ramps.

3. Support persons

If you travel with a dedicated support person to assist with communication, mobility, or personal care, they are fully welcome in our vehicles. The flat-rate distance fare for your vehicle applies regardless of the number of passengers (up to the vehicle's legal seatbelt capacity), meaning there is no extra charge for your support person.

4. Driver assistance and communication

Our drivers are expected to provide excellent customer service to everyone. We train our fleet to communicate clearly, patiently, and respectfully, taking into account each passenger's unique needs. If you require extra time to board or disembark, simply let your driver know — we are here to ensure your safety and comfort.

5. Digital accessibility

We are actively working to ensure our booking platform and website (www.airportrun.ca) are accessible to all users, including those using screen readers and other assistive technologies. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
